About FLIC
FLIC was created in the fall of 2001 after much prayer spent on its direction. FLIC’s main purpose is this:
To develop freshmen as individuals and leaders here at Texas A&M through the values, personal skills, and leadership that is taught through serving our community, on campus and off, while focusing on what Christ taught us on how to be leaders. FLIC is a freshmen leadership organization(FLO) that is based on Christianity, which says that to be a leader, we first must serve. “Whoever wants to become great(lead) among you must first be your servant.” Mark 10:43
FLIC was designed to take freshmen, with all of the knowledge they have learned, and to apply that knowledge into serving our community. Through service, we are doing as our greatest example of a leader, Jesus Christ, would have done. He came to serve us, and by serving us to show us God’s love. We encourage freshmen to get involved in many areas on campus to help spread Christ’s love, as well give them the opportunity to lead service projects through FLIC. We desire to help freshmen develop leadership skills, and then help them go out and lead in other areas on campus and off campus.
